The Story Behind Fable & Flow Crafts

In October 2025, I officially launched Fable & Flow Crafts — a dream that has quietly grown over the years and took inspiration from selling handmade soap. It began, quite simply, as a love letter to the natural world: a space where my fascination with folklore, the turning seasons, and the quiet magic of the English countryside could take physical form. For me, Fable & Flow is more than a business — it’s a way of living slowly, creating mindfully, and sharing the beauty I see in the everyday.

I’ve always felt most at home outdoors. There’s something grounding about the rhythm of the seasons — the smell of rain, the hum of bees around wildflowers, the soft crackle of a fire. Nature doesn’t hurry; it flows. That gentle rhythm has taught me so much, not just in craft but in life. It reminds me to pause, to notice the small details — the twist of ivy, the shimmer of dew, the soft light filtering through the trees. Those moments of stillness are where most of my inspiration begins.

My love of history and folklore is deeply entwined with that connection. Living in England means being surrounded by old stories — from ancient standing stones and Green Men carved into church walls, to tales of wise women, woodland spirits, and whispered myths that linger in the hedgerows. I’ve always believed that those stories still breathe beneath the surface of our modern world. They remind us that magic is never far away — it’s simply waiting for us to notice it.

That sense of wonder is what I try to capture with Fable & Flow Crafts. I want my creations to feel alive, as though they might have stepped straight from an old folktale. I am grounded by living by the seasons. Whether it’s the spark of new life in Spring or the quiet reflection of Autumn, each turn of the year offers its own colours, textures, and moods that shape my creativness.

I have spent many years working in science — a world of precision, patience, and curiosity. It might sound far removed from clay and folklore, but in truth, science and art have more in common than people think. Both are about observing, experimenting, and appreciating the beauty of connection. This background has taught me how to look closely, to notice the smaller details — lessons that now find their way into each sculpted leaf and painted mushroom cap.

At the heart of it all, though, is love — for my family, my craft, and the life we’re building together. I’m a mother, a maker, and a storyteller, often with a cat curled nearby as I work late into the evening adding the final touches to a new piece.

Launching Fable & Flow Crafts this autumn feels like a return to myself — to the roots of what truly matters: nature, stories, connection, and creativity. Each sculpture or charm carries a fragment of that spirit — a spark of ancient myth, a touch of woodland calm, a reminder that we are all part of something beautifully cyclical and alive.

As the leaves turn and another season begins, so too does this new chapter of my life. My hope is that Fable & Flow Crafts brings a little of that old English magic into the modern world — and into the homes and hearts of those who still believe that the wild places are watching, whispering, and waiting to be remembered.

If you are still reading and following... I thank you for being part of this journey.
